Rebecca Stephenson McWhirter| DOC Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine

Rebecca McWhirter, CRNP
Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner

Rebecca Stephenson McWhirter is a Decatur native. She graduated from Austin High School in 2007 and completed her Master’s degree in Nursing at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. Rebecca worked in Cardiothoracics at Huntsville Hospital until joining DOC in 2017. She returned to Decatur to provide care to patients in the community where she grew up. Rebecca loves to travel and has many varied interests including marine biology and archaeology.

Bethany Chancelor

Bethany Chancelor, CRNP
CERTIFIED REGISTERED NURSE PRACTITIONER

Bethany grew up in Hartselle, Alabama, and attended Danville High School, where she was active in volleyball, basketball, and softball, earning a scholarship to play collegiate volleyball. Guided by her faith, she pursued a career in nursing, earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Alabama in Huntsville and a Master’s in Nursing from Troy University.

For 11 years, Bethany worked as a registered nurse at Crestwood Medical Center, serving as a charge nurse and specializing in post-operative spine care. She is blessed with a loving husband, two children, and a life centered on faith and family. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, fishing, tending to her muscadine vineyard, and relaxing at the beach.

Jeremy Urban | DOC Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine

Meghan Hollimon, CRNP
CERTIFIED REGISTERED NURSE PRACTITIONER

Meghan Hollimon graduated from Mt. Hope High School in 2007 and completed her Master’s degree in Nursing at the University of Alabama in Huntsville in 2012. She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. Meghan worked at the Pediatric Emergency Department at Huntsville Hospital until joining Dr. Tapscott’s team in 2019. Meghan currently resides in Moulton with her husband and son. Her interests include hiking and visiting national parks.

Krista Butts| DOC Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine

CERTIFIED REGISTERED NURSE PRACTITIONER

Krista is an Athens native. She graduated from East Limestone High School in 2011 and completed her Master’s degree at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2019. She worked at UAB hospital in the Cardiothoracic ICU as a registered nurse before joining DOC in 2020. She currently resides in Athens with her husband. They enjoy traveling and spending time with family and friends.

Kaylee Suggs | DOC Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine

Kaylee Suggs, CRNP
CERTIFIED REGISTERED NURSE PRACTITIONER

Kaylee is a Chelsea, Alabama native. She graduated from Auburn University with honors in 2017, and then went on to complete her masters degree at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2020. She is a board-certified family nurse practitioner with a specialty in orthopedics. She has worked in the neuro ICU at UAB as a registered nurse and then at the Kirklin Clinic as a nurse practitioner before joining Dr. Hallock’s team in 2022. Kaylee currently resides in Decatur with her husband and their labrador, Rip. She enjoys outdoor activities, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.

Lindsay Traynom | DOC Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine

Lindsay Traynom, CRNP
CERTIFIED REGISTERED NURSE PRACTITIONER

Lindsay grew up in Boone, North Carolina, and graduated from Watauga High School in 2004. She played collegiate volleyball and earned a Bachelor of Science in Health Promotion from Appalachian State University, followed by a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Queen’s University of Charlotte. She later obtained her Master’s in Nursing from The University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa.

With a background in emergency medicine and the operating room as a registered nurse, Lindsay has specialized in orthopaedics since becoming a CRNP. She currently lives in Decatur with her husband and two daughters. In her free time, she enjoys watching her daughter play softball, cooking, spending time with family and friends, and visiting her cabin on her family farm in the North Carolina mountains.
