Our Doctors Are Proud to Be Part of the Local Community At DOC Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine in Decatur, our team of specialists is committed to providing advanced, patient-centered care right here in North Alabama. Our board-certified physicians are a mix of Morgan County natives and those who have sought to make this area their home. Regardless of how they arrived here, all of them have dedicated their careers to improving the lives of their patients. One of those specialists is Dr. Justin Hallock. Though not originally from North Alabama, he and his wife set out to raise their family and establish his practice in a small town where they could feel like a part of the community. “I knew I didn’t want to practice in a big city, where patients can get lost,” said Dr. Hallock. “I wanted to practice in a town where I can develop relationships with my patients, get to know them as neighbors, and say hello when I see them around town. Decatur offers that for me and for my family.” Dr. Hallock brought his wife and their three children to North Alabama in 2019 after completing a fellowship in sports medicine at Mississippi Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center, where he worked with world-renowned shoulder and elbow surgeons Felix “Buddy” Savoie and Larry Field. He is a board-certified Orthopaedic surgeon and recently received his sub speciality certificate in sports medicine. Not surprisingly, Dr. Hallock has dedicated much of his career to athletic coverage, having worked with teams at all levels including high schools, Division 1 colleges, the Memphis Red Birds baseball team, and the Memphis Grizzlies. He continues to use sports as a way to connect to the local communities, providing sports coverage and community outreach for Morgan and Lawrence County schools. Dr. Hallock also provides sports physicals for boys’ and girls’ teams across all sports and supports the area chapters of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA).“I really enjoy living and working in a smaller community, where I can take care of people I see every day,” said Dr. Hallock. “My family and I love staying active with our kids’ sports, plus all the area parades, the dragon boat races, and Decatur’s ‘Third Friday’ events.”Dr. Hallock is part of a growing team of orthopaedic specialists at DOC Orthopaedics in Decatur.
